Illinois Nazi's
It seems like people like me who are transplants to the ugly state of Illinois can't have a conversation about how ugly Illinois is, or the people, without having a rabid (and by rabid I mean insane) supporter of everything Illinois pop his or her nose (usually his) into my business. Just the other day I was getting into the specifics of why Illinois politics, politicians, and Illinois liberals suck when I was interrupted by an Illi-nazi and told how great the Bears were. Yeah, I care, not.
Anyone else who is a transplant to this state (and hate it) know what I am talking about? I know a couple of them will post in this thread, but I just don't understand the rabid (and psychopathic) defense of this state. It is borderline insane.

Welcome to Illinois! Glad you're enjoying your time here. Just a general observation: People tend to get defensive about the places they live, have grown up, or are passionate about. I would argue this applies to just about any place, be it Hawaii, Youngstown, Bermuda and yes...even ugly ol' Romeoville.
I'm sure I speak for the entire population of the Land of Lincoln when I say, we are truly sorry if we've offended you, we wholeheartedly agree with all of your observations, and will further desist from butting into your profound conversations.

Like runninfiend says, people who were born here and lived here their whole lives without seeing the rest of the country may think we're the best thing since sliced bread.
However, he may also be on to something with Romeoville. I've been here for about 4 years total, and I'm about to lose my mind. It is indeed ugly. Thank goodness I'm almost done doing my time.

Hello AaronK, I recognize you from the politics thread, where you pass your time mindlessly ranting about 'the liberals' and comparing Obama to the anti-christ (for little more than his middle name if I remember correctly) rather than actually having civil political discussions with people who hold differing views. Perhaps you'd be better off going back there and crawling back under your 'liberals suck' rock, your boneheaded idea of discourse is not welcome here.

Rabid?
"t seems like people like me who are transplants to the ugly state of Illinois can't have a conversation about how ugly Illinois is, or the people, without having a rabid (and by rabid I mean insane) supporter of everything Illinois pop his or her nose (usually his) into my business."
I think when you attack a persons identity, the reaction is not pleasant.
If you do not like Romeoville, move. If you do not like Illinois, move. If you don't like Democrats, move. Illinois is a Democragic state. If you cannot move, or chose not to move, then make the best of it. One cannot keep making the same mistake and expect a different ending.
Illinois has some very distinct and different areas. Some areas are snooty, some are hard core, some are friendly, and some are clannish.
Most of the liberals will let you speak your peace and comment very little, but by and large if you start tossing around political labels and make inflamatory statements, the reaction will be swift and deserved..
And I lived in other states. There still is no place like home.

Both of you stop trolling and get out of here. If you hate Illinois so much AaronK transfer and don't come back.
