Yes, when creating new sub-forums we always move previous threads as needed.

Steve-o ... you and Avengerfire are 'brutal' ... though i did get a chuckle out of it, and you are probably right... even though i have not read the New Trier thread, or really dont read threads that dont interest me... yet that is beside the point.
i have seen and met many who feel they are better than others just because of where they live.

This needs to be a sub-forum on every city and state.

While Im here I might as well suggest a "Im a winter weenie and cant take the cold, waaaa, waaaa, waaaa" forum. It always amazes me how people can take the time to pull their thumbs out of their mouths just so they can type how they dont like the winter here.

I guess I quoted this slightly wrong. Here it is (name removed).

I hear it actually snows down there? We don't really get snow up here.... just lots and lots of rain and clouds and pretty much constant drizzle.

For example, Champaign/Urbana and UofI. An extremely diverse community with people from all across the globe. Areas include Mahomet, Tolono, Monticello (Allerton Park), and Tuscola which are all great communities.
Carbondale has lots of possibilities for camping hiking and other types of outdoor activities.
Springfield is the capitol and home of ol Abe Lincoln, lots of history.
I am just sick and tired of having a major city and all of the people from that major city always thinking they are better and more important than us form smaller so called less important communities.

It seems as though your post is more about larger metro areas getting more attention than small cities and not actually having new forums.
central and southern Illinois are nice places but just because it has history does not mean that there is enough talk here to create a new sub-forum in Illinois. This isn't unique to Illinois.

May I make a suggestion?
Not counting Chicago, there area five metropolitan areas in Illinois and they are primarily downstate: B-N, Carbondale, Champaign, Peoria and Springfield.
Bloomington-Normal, Champaign and Peoria are in Central and Eastern Central Illinois. Western Central Illinios which includes Macomb and Galesburg is mostly farm land. Springfield and Carbondale are more Southern Illinois.
Perhaps instead of city forums - and becase Illinois is primarily farmland - it would be better to create "area" forums IE: Northern Il., Central Il, and Southern, Il..
PS: There has for at least 50 years been a standing joke amongst Chicagoans that anything sourth of State and Madison is Southern Illinois.

Some of these forums would be pretty quiet. Even "Illinois" does not always have many new posts.

The whole of Illinois except Chicago and East St. Louis are part of the Illinois Grain and Beef Belt. Villages sprouted where settlers farmed 150 years ago; many of those villages, that are much like like Cuba and Bath are still viable..
You will never get enough single queries to warrant a city forum, but taken collectivefly there might be enough to warrent a regional foroum - if and provinding the Admin would try it. We do get a goodly amought of questions for the central part of the state, though, because of the schools.

IDK there are 90 pages of threads for Chicago, 76 for the burbs, and a whopping 37 for the rest of the state over the history of this site to date. Of course the Admin will decide, but how would it be broken down?
Maybe Central,Southern, and Northwest Illinois Forums?
