You will have a hard time finding a safe place in a metro area on 60K; it doesn't exist. Unless you home school the "sticks" offer the greatest security to your children, in my opinion.
IL education, as a whole, is pretty decent compared to some of the other states I lived in. The Peoria area is unique that there is something going on all year for kids families from large venues to home-grown festivals.. The Peoria park distric has more than 50 parks, and the state has many familities in Central Illinois that offer education, history, entertainment and outdoor activities. As to the other subject... When I lived in Missouri, I had neighbors who indulged in another lifestyle. They drove 150 miles to KC..They never said where they found it; I didn't ask. He was arrested and the kids taken away; they will not see their parents until they are no longer adjudicated to be children. In MO that can be 25 years of age. . Turned out he thought he got his 10 year old pg. The kids were not stupid, the parents were. The kids were exposed to adult things that should have been under lock and key. The emotional aftermath has been horrendous for theses kids who were robbed of their youth by goofy parents. I could never understand why sex with strangers was more important to them than their children. |

Linicx, that is trule a sad, and simultaneously disgusting story. I must agree that is unbelievable that the parents choose their lifestyle over their parental responsibilities. some people shouldn't be allowed to breath, let alone breed.
My heart goes out to those children, adn all children like them. Don't worry, although we really enjoy our lifestyle, we keep it well shielded form our children, and would exit said lifestyle within a blink, if we thought for a second that it would harm any of our children. I'll look into Pioria.thanks! the 60k is a rough estimate, based on what our market here supports. I looked at the COLA adjustments, but didnt take the time to figure it out. When we move, i'll be newly graduated with my associates in welding technology, and my wife is in hotel/resturaunt management- more on the upscale side as opposed to the resturaunt chains. any idea what those credentials would pay (Ballpark figure/rough estimate) in the metro area? i dunno. Thanks all!! Valkyrie_Veritech warrior of Truth Quote:

The most upscale food service in Peoria is the Peoria Country Club. Its the oldest club, the most elegant club with the ,members withe the oldest money. Mt. Hawley Country Club, Illinois Valley Yacht Club and last and the newly monied who belonb to the Willow Knolls Country Club. There is also a Pekin Country Club and a Bloomington County Club; The attotide at Pekin is better. The clubs expct experience with food and beverage, catering and banquets. Jim's Steak House downtown, King's Restaurant on Galena Rd. (White pages) .There is also a Lone Star. Red Lobster and Outback Restauraunts. And there are others I do not eat at and did not work at, so I can only hazzard a guess. There is also a casino/hotel in East Peoria, and there is probably oportunnity on the Peoria River Front. tje Shoppes at Grand Prairie is very upscale. I passed it once going to a doctors office. There should be food service nearby.. |

thanks Guys! sorry it took me so long to respond- computer problems again.
I'll certainly look further into the Peoria area. Sounds interesting. And thanks for dropping those names, Linicx, we'll keep them on fime, adn make good use of them should we decide to move that way. Thanks you all for your time and effort!! it's been most helpful! Peoria, I think, is broad-minded in most things as long as you are discreet and keep your private life private. The neighbor I was telling you about got fired for talking to other employees about his personal life. He was a braggart; he had no common sense, and he got caught. Most reasonable people do not tolerate child abuse.
Pekin would be a good town for you as it is a tolerant town whereas some of the others are not. |
