OTTAWA-ILL...can we make it.. (Naperville, Streator: skateboarding, rental, house)

*the question is: why is not Ottawa the most beautiful place to live...facts are:
...town on three rivers (Fox, Illinois and gorgeous jewel of river... Vermillion)...
...unbelievable Starved Rock, Matthiessen, Buffalo Rock...etc...
...surrounded with warm small towns ( Marseilles, Streator, Oglesby, Peru, La Sale...
...downtown that fights for itself
...and the most important fact-people are sooo good (most of them)

*second question is: why do not we have:
...every weekend:
...kayak/canoe competition on those rivers
...cycling races (road/mtn) throughout amazing geography of region
...ski-country competition
...running competition
...skateboarding/bmx/x competition
...etc...

Please, give me your answers, ideas, thoughts...
Let's make it happen

I am originally from Ottawa, just moving to AZ. I was going to sell my home there, but after being here a year have decided not too for the simple reason that I too love Ottawa. I hate it here and hopefully in the next 3-4 years I will be able to return. This town ROCKS!!!

My sister and I are planning to move to Ottawa. We are both senior citizens and want to know how safe Ottawa is and what kind of housing do you have for seniors? We are also interested in either senior housing, rental house or purchase a home. Please tell me more about the town.

...Ladies, I am not from Ottawa, just 55 miles from it...Naperville...my impression about town is very positive...gorgeous Nature, sweet people...anything else would be pure speculation from me...sorry for not being more of use...and all of the best to you and your sister...
