Considering relocating!! Need advise on Roscoe IL and the house rentals in Chicory Ridge!! (Ava: apartment)

I am a single mom who is thinking about relocating to the illinois area. I am currently living about 45 minutes outside of Boston in a small town so we are use to quiet, no crime, good school systems, and all that good stuff moms look for when they provide a home for there kids. What i pay here for a 2 bedroom apartment i could be renting a 3 bedroom house in Roscoe from what i have researched. This is a really tempting deal for us to relocate to that area. Obviously making a move as far as this is a HUGE step and i would like advise anyone can give me on if it could be the right choice. If anyone is familiar with Chicory Ridge in Roscoe Illinois? What is Roscoe like? and surrounding areas? School systems?! Any advice i can get i greatly appreciate

You are ok Renting a house there but do not buy one. PM me if you want more information. If you do Rent make sure you read the fine print. Other then poor construction of houses the subdivision is a nice place to live.

Don't listen to what HAVASU says. The builder in Chicory Ridge is a fine builder. He's the second largest builder in the area. I live in a Contry home and have sold many homes for him. I have never once heard a complaint. If your interested in the Management company who rents out in the area PM for their information.

I see seven that are unhappy and have complaints.I can only imagine how many others that are unhappy. Would you like me to post some pictures of my home so the others can see for themselves? I will be glad to, just ask. I have plenty of pictures. Do a search for other builders in the area and there are no complaints on them.
Just so others know, I owned a home in Chicory Ridge built by Maplecrest a branch off of Contry homes. I had major problems with it. Very poor quality home.

Post the Pictures. The thing you don't understand is the fact that you can't please everyone. Contry homes has built thousands of homes and I only see a few negitive comments. One actually has someone defending Contry homes and how great they are. What about the other 99.9% of the people?

Also, don't post information you have absolutely no idea what the truth is. Maplecrest and Contry are seperate, they always have been. He's never owned part of them or built their homes for them. He's only been the listing agent for maplecrest. So it sounds to me your problem is with Maplecrest NOT Contry.

Do you want me to post pictures of my home to see how nice it is? I can do that if you'd like?

My apologies if I made the mistake with Contry and Maplecrest. That does not change the fact that my new house was built poor and cheap. I do not believe that I am the one who looks pathetic. I am stating facts and if that is pathetic then I am ok with that. One more thing read back I did say it was OK to rent one of the homes there just dont buy one. This is a brand new home. Roofs should never look this way when new, nor should there be a pile of shingles and plywood sheeting from repairs of a new roof. The point is this.The house(roof) should of been built the right way from the start,but it was not and mine is not the only one that had this problem.The roof leaked and it took 1 month for the repairs to get done.Here are the pictures. So am I wrong to be upset when my new house(roof) looks this way and leaks?

The area is wonderful for a single mom. Just get an inspector, I have a Contry Home built by the same builder. In Chicory they took some shortcuts. I had a lot of complaints, but also you get what you pay for. Nice large homes in a great neighborhood.

I can tell just by looking at this house you lived there awhile ago. First, Contry doesn't use 3 tab shingles anymore, 2nd it looks as if you didn't pay for housewrap (which was an option at the time, but now comes standard). Don't come on here and give a negative opinion of the builder when he builds his homes different now. Your giving out false infomation.

What is false about my information? The house was built poor thats a fact look at the pictures that home was less then 4 months old when the pictures were taken. Why is the builder building his homes different (better) now? My home should of been built just as good then as they are now. No My house was not wrapped its part of the cheapness of it. That should not have to be an upgrade or option.
Are they wrapped now? Yes. Is it an upgrade now? No. What changed?
Maybe people complaining about the quality? I do not think that a builder will decide to add the wrap just because, and throw it in at no charge.
Why did Contry use 3 tab shingles to start with? They dont use them anymore? why? I do not want to go back and forth with you on who has the best house all I want to do is inform others of the poor quality of the houses built in Chicory Ridge and I did that.

Why don't they build cars like they use too? Why is it I use to shave with a single blade razor and now I shave with a 3 razor blade?

Why don't they use galvanized plumbing anymore? Why don't they still use plaster and lath together? Why don't they use 60amp service anymore?

Are you that dumb to realize that everything we use evolves into something better. It was your own dumb mistake to buy a home that you thought was cheap. The fact of the matter is the home was built different back than. Don't come on here and say that all Contry homes are cheap. When it's a lie!
