Default Illinois home prices holding steady.

According to the most recent edition of Money magazine, The National Association of Realtors (NAR) reported Monday that the median price of a single-family house in the third quarter dropped 1.2 percent from a year earlier, continuing a reversal of fortune for sellers that started last winter.

But here in Illinois, we did better. Suprisingly, the Kankakee area topped the state.

Kankakee 6.1%
Champaign 5.5%
Peoria 3.8%
Chicago 1.7%
Rockford 1.6%
Springfield 1.5%
Quad Cities .6%
Decatur .6%
Bloomington -8.5%
