No, but it just makes me crazy everytime someone from the burbs, tries to tell a new memebr, that is looking into Illinois, that they have everything at their fingetips, but live this quiet, slow-paced, no rush lifestyle. THEY DON'T!
Just because your house has a beautiful backdrop doesn't mean it offers that great Conneticut feel.

And, for at least the 20th time, I have never compared Bloomginton or Champaign, to Chicago. Contrary to what many seem to think on this forum, I am not that ignorant. Where would I even start an argument like that? Nowhere, because I couldn't.

The suburbs just don't offer the lifestlye that we have. That is more than a simple rant, that is a simple, concrete fact!! Why do so many dispute it?! Most up there, are proud of the fact they don't live life in the slow lane. But we here in B-N, and C-U have perfected that lifestyle. We are mirror images of the suburbs in almost everyway, but don't feel rushed, spend money on items that we pay downwards of three time less than Chicagoland, and just have a simpler lifestyle, with everything that Aurora or Naperville can offer. By saying that you are this simple bedroom community, you are insulting us. Most of the suburbs are huge cities in and of themselves. And if you are lucky enough not to live in them, then you are simply surrounded on all sides by them. And no, Bloomington-Normal is no small town suburb. We are a major Illinois city too. But come visit here and up there, and you can feel the difference.

To the original poster.....I'm from the Springfield area. Smack in the middle of the state. There aren't any manufacturing companies that would fit the bill as far as employment.
