I have found a property that I am in love with in Carmi, IL.
Is anyone familiar with the area? What is the closest area that I'm likely to find a job that pays decent? |

There are no close areas to work in Carmi, IL. The closest place is Evansville Indiana about 50 miles depending on where you would decide to get a job. It is a decent size city. There are alot of small towns by Carmi ranging from 13 Miles to 50 miles but jobs are scarce.

Are you in love with the Greek revival going for around $470,000? Evansville is about an hours drive and Mt. Vernon IN about the same. Nice paying jobs at GE. I no longer live there but would consider it once I retire but my wife doesn't want to live a small town. I have friends who work the coal mine and I hear that pays well. Teaching pays ok for the area.
