Default The official 2008-2009 Blackhawks thread

Well, figured Id start a thread for my beloved Hawks. Please feel free to comment and share your love/opinion for the team.

After a rockin win against Phoenix last night (did you see Havlat's great goal and Khabi's stellar performance?), the Hawk's front office dropped my jaw by firing Denis Savard today and replacing him with Joel Quenville. WOW! Im sure Bowman had a big part in this, and I PRAY TO GOD he knows what he's doing.

Goodbye Denis, youre VERY much loved in Chicago.

WHAT!! They fired Savi!! Who got the Ouija board out and started channeling Bill Wirtz's management style. No, I take that back. Bill Wirtz was more loyal than that. What does the new coach bring that Savi doesn't?

A better record, more experience. Still, it doesnt replace Savvy.

Im still in shock.

But hey, just goes to show that Rocky/John/Scotty will do anything to bring the Cup here.

Should be interesting to see if Quenneville gets a reaction from St. Louis fans Saturday.

Im sure theyve let that go. I hope.

I cant imagine the pressure that Tallon has just put on Joel and the Hawks players. Its gotta be sooooooo tense in that locker room now.

Well, here's to hopin that Mr. Q does well! Cheers!

I don't think they should've fired Savard so soon.

It's been 3 games. This could go two ways: The 'hawks get very nervous and keep losing, or the new coach could energize them and they could win more.

Well, it was 4 games actually.

I also agree the decision was very rash. Time will tell...

In the meantime, LETS GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

histo320 is on a distinguished road
Give the Blackhawks, lets say 3 years. After a few trades, and getting rid of the cancer on the team, they will be contenders for the Stanley Cup on 2010!!!

I guarantee it!!!!

The Blues vs. Blackhawks rivalry should be very entertaining the next few years.

Blues won 6-1 today, so we're 3-1-0. Obviously it's still early, though. But both the Blackhawks and Blues have a young team with great prospects, so both should be very good as the next couple years progress.

Curious, who/what is the cancer on the team?
