You know you're from Illinois when the answer to "What state are you from?" is "Chicago".

how true that one is. It's ALL about Chicago it seems. Or if someone asks where I grew up I just say "The Chicago Area" and that covers it pretty well. I may have started on the South Side but ended up on the North Shore.

Actually from my experience Illinois is second. I've been going 105 through Detroit and been passed by 5 cars in a row.

Michigan driving rules are the only faster ones I've experienced, however in Illinois there's no use of turn signals or looking to see if your swerving will kill the guy next to you.

And I have met scores of Chicagoans that do indeed put ketchup on a hot dog....I know, I know, we are terrible people. I also can't believe it took to page 7 to mention the pop vs soda thing, I have met people in the south that have literally, never heard soda refered to as pop. Blew my mind.

You have to drive to Indiana or Wisconsin for your fireworks.

Yeah Illinois is a one major city state. I wish it was more spread out like in Ohio.

You know you're from Illinois if...
You have to go into the left lane to ramp around a car at least 10 times when driving in Wisconsin.
You hate your neighbor during baseball season, but like him during football season.
You get fireworks from Wisconsin.
You have been to Wrigley Field.
You ask where the deep dish pizza is at a pizza place in another state.
You are used to corrupt politics.
You know that Michigan is not a state, it is a road.
You know that the word FIB is doesn't mean a lie, it is a derogatory nickname for Illinoisans.
You make fun of Wisconsin, Iowa, and New York on a regular basis even though you have friends and family there, and they openly make fun of you.
