Next Illinois Senator
I suppose this should be in the politics forum, but it is pretty much an Illinois question.
Now that Sen. Obama will ascend to the Presidency, who do you feel that Gov. Blagojevich will appoint to finish his term?
Tammy Duckworth? Emil Jones? A surprise?

I don't know who it will be, but I predict whoever it is will be a crook.

Blagojevich could, in theory, appoint himself, which would be interesting to say the least.

I halfway wish he would appoint himself. He'd do less damage to Illinois in the Senate than in the governorship.
I would like to see Glenn Poshard. Let's get some downstate representation for a change, plus Poshard isn't a flaming retard partisan, plus Blago owes Poshard for helping him pick up downstate votes.

I actually voted for Poshard when he ran for governor. So much for Chicagoans only voting for Chicago area candidates huh?
The problem with him is he has been out of politics for a long time. I do not mind that however and think he would be a great choice to hold office in or for the state of Illinois.

I sure as hell hope it is not Emil Jones.
I would rather not see Tammy Duckworth installed. She does not have enough experience. Sound familiar?
As far as my real choice-I say Ditka. jk

Tammy Duckworth would be a great pick, but because she is, I have no faith that Blago will pick her.

Personally I'd like to see Duckworth or Jan Schakowsky. For some reason I doubt either will get the nod.
