I adore Galena! We live in the Northern suburbs of Chicago and have been coming to Galena every fall for over 10 years. I told my husband I would like to retire there. We'd like to move there now, but are afraid jobs are not to be found - in Dubuque or surrounding areas. Our family and my husbands giant family (20+!) stay in a house in Eagle Ridge year after year. I just find it idyllic.

I was there last winter during the holiday. It a quint little town and reminds me of Boston a little. There are plenty of restaurants there to choose from and a definite must visit if you are in the area. The only downside is parking is hard to come by during the summer and the Holidays.

I love Galena but just visited Stillwater, MN and that reminds me of a bigger version of Galena. So---if you like Galena I think you would love Stillwater - just my two cents for somebody looking for another place to visit - it was beautiful!!!
