Granite City info? (Collinsville, Pontoon Beach: rental car, rental, hotels)

Hello all,

My name is Steve , Im from England UK.

September 09 Im travelling to Granite City and will be staying for 3 weeks.

Im looking for some info on getting to Granite City from the STL airport? Could anyone give me some advice please?

Also info on any hotels/B&Bs would be great?

Granite City is not one of the best areas. If you are looking for a nice area, check St. Louis or other surrounding areas.

Will you be driving? Or you need some transportation?

Do you want to be near your training site for a hotel, or would you rather stay in a more tourist-y are with things to do at night?

Hello ,

Ill be living on site at the gym , so no need for accomodation at the moment , although I may need a B&B If I arrive a day before training starts and a day after. (unless the gym let me use the accom for 2 extra nights?)

I wont be driving so will be needing transport from STL airport to this place -THE H.I.T SQUAD 400 A STREET, SUITE D , GRANITE CITY.

Do you know if there are public transport links from the airport?

Im from Granite so I might be able to help ya.

There arent really any decent hotels in Granite City, the closest place with decent hotels would be in Pontoon Beach and Collinsville. Unfortunately, the area around Granite does not have very good public transportation, so unless you have a rental car your gonna have a pretty boring 3 weeks.

As far as getting from the airport to GC, you either need to hire a shuttle at the airport to get you to GC, or take the metrolink (light rail) to lacledes landing and pick up a cab from there.

Someone else may have better idea's, but its 4:30 in the morning so my brain isnt working that effectively.

Also , the GM at the gym has told me he will organise a lift from the airport.
