Default Taylorville, Illinois

I applied for a job in Taylorville and have a phone interview coming this week, hopefully. Me and 7 others are being interviewed.

What can you tell me about Taylorville? How are the people, are they friendly? What is the local government like? How are businesses in town?

Who provides cable tv, phone and various services like that?

I have no idea If I'm going to get the job.... and I'm sure there are things local folks can tell me about that I'd NEVER find out onlnie, and that's what I'm looking for! ;=)

THANKS!
Paul

It's a nice small town, and the county seat of Christian County. A bit country-ish perhaps, but the people are friendly. One thing you want to know is that a lot of top radio talent started out in Taylorville. It'll give you an "in" with a lot of people in the industry.

Interesting insights, thanks for sharing the information.

City Data says Taylorville is just a smidge over 11,000 people.. that's not small to me... LOL. You should see where I live now, Taylorville would be considered "THE CITY" and a bustling metropolis.. lol.

I didn't think of Taylorville as being a place alot of people started out and mvoed on and got big. Not knocking the city or the stations at all, I just never knew that.. but i's close proximity to bigger cities could have something to do with it!
