As a newcomer to IL, I have a question?

Has the state ever provided any evidence that FOID registration or review of application for FOID has made the state a safer/better place?

Further, given the movement towards Concealed Carry in 48 other states, is there any political movement in IL to eliminate this onerous practice?

The former part is simply presumed, of course. Evidence schmevidence. The latter part... city and suburban politicians have the numbers to block any legislation toward relaxing ownership rules, and both are equally paranoid about gun ownership. It's just not part of the culture up here, so too bad you downstaters.
