Default Motel 6 Rockford - good or bad area?
I will be cross-country travelling soon with animals, and Motel 6's are pet friendly. Is the one at I-90 and US 20/E State St in a safe area?

I think that part of town is safe.

It is fine. Lots of stores and restaurants in the area.

Do a google street view of that intersection and look around the area to see for yourself.

I love Motel 6! They are always on major thoroughfares which are actually the safest streets around. There are always decent cheap restaurants nearby. I moved here from California with a giant dog (Rott mix) and a half-siamese cat in perpetual meow mode. I stayed in Motel 6 all the way and never had a bad experience. Enjoy your move! Someday you'll look back and think it was fun.

That Motel 6 in right in front of Giovanni's. Be sure to stop in there for dinner if you like Italian.
