Looking for REAL Cuban Supermarket
Need some help if anyone knows..i am trying to find a real Cuban grocery and bakery here in Illinois. Have gone to several that advertise "latin" and they are all Mexican..no offense, but being from FL I want to find real cuban pastries and bread and meat etc..any info??

Illinois is a big place. Any particular region in Illinois you're looking?

Thanks, I live in Central Illinois, about 2 hours south of Chicago..so anywhere in that area would be good :-)

Well there's two rather modest Cuban grocery stores here, both of which are probably better known throughout the broader community for their restaurants in back than for their actual grocery selection. They are La Unica in Edgewater and Tropi Cuba in Logan Square. That said, La Unica is a bit "pan-Latin" but its primary focus is on Cuban fare.

Hey I just saw a news clip of Julian Crews who is on channel 9 I think? Anyway - he is of cuban descent and has opened up an online cuban store - Old Havana Foods - see if you can google it?
