Wondering what the average winter weather - snow/ice - in Murphysboro area, also what winter housing is like.

Can't say what the housing is like but the winters are typical mid-south. Can have 70 degrees one day, snow/ice the next. Overall, somewhat mild but you will get nasty winter weather on occasion - except keep in mind they really aren't prepared to deal with it.
Also keep in mind that some of the housing is driven by the proximity of SIU in carbondale.
