Anyone know name of owner of Smitty's Plumbing in Chenoa ???
Hello,
Tried to call Smitty's plumbing in Chenoa and found that number was
disconnected... Was calling to ask question about some old family
friends I'm trying to locate. Does anyone know the name of the owner
of Smitty's Plumbing & Heating in Chenoa ? Couldn't find any info online and the Chenoa library wasn't any help. Looks like they may be out of
business... Thanks much for any info. John

I tried to post but it disappeared....LOL I don't live in Chenoa (live over north of Springfield) but I do a lot of history searches....here's a site of Chenoa clubs that have names, addresses, phone numbers to contact....the historical society and the american legion/VFW might prove the best. Then maybe the school alumni association...they usually have lots of info.

Good luck

John...One time I was in the Dixon area and thought I remembered an old station but I didn't remember a business being in it.... I could be wrong but it stuck in my mind as I like to look at old gas station stuff (Springfield has a great museum station) .... I checked for plumbing and heating in Dixon....and found this ... the business began in 1967.... maybe???? And this is water related!

Hello Doll Lady,
Thanks much for info---think it would have been too far to Dixon for our trip, but will check it out. That was great that you sent their web-site link. It did say that they bought the business in '67 and built their new location the next year whereas the people I'm searching for started their business in the old gas-station building
next door to their home... But maybe the Schmitt's know who they are since they
started about the same time ( if they're somewhere in area ) ???
I've called Bill Shea who has the gas-station museum in Springfield. He's an interesting guy to talk with...
Thanks again. John
