Just wanted to let you know that I check for your updates on Rockford. I too, am considering moving back to the area after 10 years of living in the Milwaukee area. My draw is family, but the job market makes me hesitant. My husband is in IT and I am in compliance, and we both have the ability to work remotely, If the bosses allow us to do so we will probably relocate also. If they say no, not so sure we will move there.

PS. We will bring our German car- Porsche 911 with us!

Hey, thanks for reading and thinking about us.

I think your wise staying where you are for now. The job market here is virtually non-existant. The lack of IT in general is surprising as well. I'm getting a website made and had to hire a guy back in Florida that used to work for me because I just couldn't find anyone who was close to being skilled enough for my tastes. However, that also means there's opportunity for the right people too.

The trip back to florida was goood for everyone, btw. Went to Door County this past weekend and spent a few hours in your city on the way back. Not to be mean, but it's amazing how backwards the people in the midwest seem compared to what we've become used to. Everyone moves sooo slow, dresses sooo conservatively, drives non descript cars, etc. I'm okay with it so long as I can get away on a regular basis and get a taste of excitement (it doesn't take much for me to get my fill,,haha).

And, yes, the BMW is now in Rockford.

Sounds like you have a nice car too. I love 911's. Great cars.

I also was wondering how you were doing Trader. I think you have the right attitude to do very well back there. I was back there a week ago and I also noticed a bit of change as far as jobs and the slowness of the way things get done. I had a great visit and it was nice to see the green everywhere and the weather was perfect for the entire time I was there. I thought SteveO was just saying its sunny day after day just to make it look good back there.
It really was perfect every day I was there. And no I dont miss living there its just not for me. Keep giving updates Trader.
Thanks

Hi Havasu,

Just spent a couple of days in Lake Geneva. Wow! No recession there I'll tell you that.

I happened to be there with the guy I've spoke about before who needs someone to run his 40 year old construction related company. Believe it or not, they have so much business lined up (approved deals) for next year that unless a meteor strikes it will be their best year ever.

As for the weather....it's getting freakin cold! About 50 right now. The strange thing is my kids don't seem to mind it all. I have to keep telling my son to put a shirt on. Mom and I on the other hand just keep telling ourselves we lived through this for 30 years so we can do it, lol.

All in all though things are going well. Thanks for checking in on us.
