Default Comcast Customer Service - Anybody Out There?

My husband and I live in Wisconsin and do some work in IL that requires us to have an apartment in Champaign-Urbana. Was able to get high-speed internet and cable TV thru Comcast (used the online service) and now have a very simple question and have no idea how to reach customer service. Any suggestions? Better yet, anyone know if I can switch a regular pc and a Mac back and forth on the same hook-up?

The simple answer is that all computers connect to the internet via the same protocols. There is no TECHNICAL reason that you should not be able to use Mac or PC or Linux or something more esoteric.

That said, if the bozo morons from Comcast are capturing the "media access control" number of your computer's network card they may very well make it so that ONLY computer can connect from one cable modem.

The simple work around is to use either a WiFi or wired router so that you can connect as many computers as the router / WiFi access point can handle.

I have 2 Macs and a PC working at the same time through a four port router and they share a printer on an 8 port USB hub. You can do the same thing for less than $100. .

You can switch a PC & MAC easily as long as they are accessing the internet through a router. If you're connecting your PC (or MAC) directly to your cable modem then you may have issues switching as Comcast may only allow 1 MAC address to use their service.

For Comcast to reach customer service:

tel: 1-800-266-2278
website: Contact Comcast

You have Comcrap? I feel for you.

I was FINALLY able to break free from Comcrap a little over a year ago and haven't looked back. They were absolutely horrible.

Have AT&T U-Verse now for phone, TV, and Internet. So much better and cheaper!

Comcrap just cares about your money. They don't care about you, the customer.

I can't begin to tell you how many customers Comcrap lost once AT&T was able to service the area with U-Verse. Not only did they lose customers to AT&T, but people also left for Satellite service. I've been seeing just as many Dish Network vans in the area as I've been seeing AT&T ones.

Now that I'm away from them, I hope that I NEVER have to go back to Comcrap.
