Dutch Farms products are out of Lansing, Illinois - a south suburb of Chicago. They sell all kinds of cheese products, butter and whipped cream.

Wildwood is generic pop that is made in Illinois.

Don't forget about the Ford plant in Chicago Heights just outside of Ford Heights.

National Railway Equipment Co. - Mt. Vernon. Manufacturers of high-efficiency, reduced-pollution "genset" locomotives.

"Ski" - Breese. Lemon/orange soft drink, made from natural juices. I personally think it's vile, but it has a devoted following downstate. Similar to Mt. Dew.

Cool Fact: Avon bottles and tubes all creams and lotions in Morton Grove. All Avon gift sets are made in Niles.

What's crazy is seeing an eighteen wheeler carrying two dozen 55 gallon drums of face moisturizer. That would be a messy collision on the highway.

Oh my that would be one mess
Funny what the truckers carry in the trailers

A few years back I stopped at the toll road oaisis in indiana near lake station, in
right before the split.

I was conversing with the guy and was curious what he was hauling and he was coming from new york state to bolingbrook or one other warehouse for a grocery chain- had a semi load full of cat tails for a floral dept.

cool fact about avon sets. I wonder if avon is based in illinois too.

Two truck-load "incident" stories:

On the I-70/64/55 bridge between St. Louis and East St. Louis, we had a big-rig overturn, full of beehives. Bees included. That was a fun one to clean up.

This is a "what were you guys thinking?": In 2007, a cattle truck overturned on I-80 near downtown Omaha, and the surviving cattle got loose. Responding officers give chase, and decide it's necessary to "down" the animals before they cause damage or injury... with shotguns. It took many rounds to stop each one - poor animals were living hamburger before finally succumbing to blood loss. I sometimes work in the highway patrol HQ there, and know firsthand the officers were the butt of jokes for months.

Oh... a third one, just last week! A truck overturns right next to my office on I-64. The load was chicken entrails destined for pet food. It took nearly 8 hours to clean-up the mess and reopen the highway because the slick goo had to be scrubbed off the road. It stunk to high-heaven, too!

At one point it was, but it is no longer. There used to be a Glenview and Northbrook building along with Morton Grove, but now there is only Morton Grove. They're officially based out of NYC with many of their offices in NY state. Sad for IL
