Thinking about other places to live
- What do I do? - I am a future teacher.
- How much do you make? - Hopefully I'll make at 40 grand/yr.
- Where to you want to live? - Somewhere in Chicagoland
- Married? - No, and there no plans to do so
- Buying a house? How much down payment? - I would like to buy a house. I can put up 10 percent of the cost of the home. I'd like to stay under 200k
I am a natural person, I am into organic living, I am not snobby, and I would like to be around average folks. Oh, and I am multiracial, so I don't want to feel like an outcast. I am a very private and quiet person. I have a minivan that I drive around town, and I'd like to live somewhere nice...

Thanks you two for your input. I will look into TX. I don't mind the heat and humidity, considering I will be able to vacation to much colder places at some point. I'll think about it.
I'm waiting on others....

I didn't know you were leaving Chicago, but if you are then check out southeastern Maryland. I heard some very good things about that area. Also try Altanta and Virginia. Good Luck!

I plan to leave after college. Which isn't that far away. I'm looking for stable communities. I hope not to end up in a white flight kind of situation...
I would hate to leave the Chicago area, but the racism is so ingrained here....I throw in the towel on this too *surrenders*

Not all of Chicagoans hate to live among one another. Please don't let Chuckity and a few others on this forum upset you.

Ive lived here over 30 years and have NEVER met a racist individual. Sure some jokes get thrown around, but thats the extent of it. And besides, what race doesnt joke about the others? Anyways, the whole "Chicagoans are racist" crap is getting really, really, really old.

She's talking about "white flight" and people not liking Country Club Hills.

Less about CCH and more about the stereotypes that people bag almost everyone of a certain race in.
