A fellow caver friend of mine wrote this book. He's a good guy and I'd trust him!

Muleskinner....I've been there before and didn't see any....I stayed for several days at Crab Orchard Lake one time and didn't see any...thank goodness. But snakes are everywhere in Illinois. I have huge black snakes which sometimes find their way to my yard. We had a small garden snake which was almost like a pet....he followed us around and wanted us to pick him up. Durn it....the neighbor's dog killed it after about 4 years of it hanging around. I think the dog got my pet tree frog too.

It might be a while before we come camping....we're looking for a lot smaller camper....we might even go with a pop-up this time. Our other camper is just too big with the high price of gas.....besides it needs new tires. Sigh! Someone we know wants to buy it to put it permanently in a camp ground. That's better than on the river bank subject to flooding....it's almost like new on the inside.

But...I really would like to come down further south in the state and stay in a cabin to fish and laze around. I think I might hunt for a place with cabins to stay later this year.
