I agree about using a different font. And red type is for Moderators.
The best thing to do is put in a search on this forum section (for Illinois) and put in Springfield, IL. You should get a lot of threads talking about Springfield. Those of us in this area would be glad to answer any further questions you have about Springfield or this area.
Very easy to get around.
Traffic is not heavy like metro areas, although there are busy parts of the day which take a bit longer to get from certain points to other points....the west side is probably the busiest.
Best neighborhoods are on the west side or the outlying suburb cities of Chatham, Rochester, Riverton, Williamsville, Sherman, Auburn, Athens, New Berlin.
Housing is varied depending upon the location. You can buy a lot of house and a lot of land for $100,000 .... especially in outlying areas and about $200,000 on the west side. But if you want to spend a 1/2 million or more, there are houses for sale in that category.
There are places to meet people....bars, parents without partners, church groups, libraries, poker clubs, pinochle clubs, chess clubs, university, colleges, senior citizens (since we don't know what age you are), casino buses, etc.
Don't know what you mean by being Diverse....in what way?????? This city is different than a metro area, because it's a small city. It's primarily white collar unlike other similar sized Illinois cities. Sits in the middle of farmland area. Lots of tourist trade.
