unions for nurses
For all the nurses in Illinois who are aware of extreme short staffing, low wages, minimal raises, reduced benefits, and increased profits for nursing homes, hospitals, home health care agencies---there is a union organizing for all CNA's, LPN's and RN's in Illinois that provide home health care services. The union organization is SEIU of Illinois/Indiana. We need to stand up and be heard about the numerous problems in healthcare. The administrations of these facilities that employ heathcare workers that are certified or licensed are making their profits for themselves and not providing adequate staffing ratios, wages and benefits for the people who care for the consumer (patients). When nurses cannot afford health insurance, cannot get a wage increase for YEARS, cannot even get adequate time off, and are required to work 12-16 hour shifts due to the nursing shortage---there is something seriously wrong. We need to contact our legislators pronto and frequently to voice our concerns to make a real change for the nurses, the nursing shortage and our patients.
