Ok - I don't know why I can't find this information anywhere but I am hoping someone here can help me. We have an old refrigerator that we are no longer using that we need to get rid of. Theoretically, it still works in the sense that it keeps stuff cold, but it leaks water constantly and therefore is useless to us. We are not buying a new one to replace it. I know that Ameren Cilco will pick yours up if it is greater than 17 years old, but it is not that old. Where can we take this to have it disposed of, or better yet, will someone come and pick it up for us?

Thank you!

check with the local waste hauler. Most do not pick up white goods on a regular basis, but can help you find a hauler. the cost is usually around $40 or $50 bucks. Too bad it isn't in good working order, I just got a flyer from ComEd in my most recent electric bill, and they will pay you $25 and haul it for free!

Well...like I said, theoretically it is working...I mean if they were too turn it on to check, it works...it just leaks water after its been running for awhile. Do you think that would make a difference? Although ComEd isn't our provider so it probably doesn't matter.

Give it away. Donate it to a charity.

Post an ad on craigslist offering it for free. There are scrappers that will pick it up for free (because they get some cash at the scrapyard for stuff like this.)
