One more thing.....

BRING BACK THE CHIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I know most of Illinois is pro-Illini because I live in the state (Chicago). However, a lot of my out-of-state friends (specifically the ones from Iowa City) seem to think that Chicago 1. doesn't like college sports and 2. the few who do follow them are Notre Dame fans. So this is more or less a way of proving them wrong. Oh, and this map:

That's a lot of people.

OK, if you say so.

If you already have all the answers, why did you ask the question?

It is. However, it's not anywhere close to a majority.

Wait, there's college sports in Illinois?

I'll watch maybe three or four Notre Dame games a season, but I mainly stick to professional.

I'm not a big UI fan, actually im not big on most Illinois teams. If were talking football then I am a moderate Florida Gators fan and my least favorite team is the NIU Huskies. In terms of Basketball then Marquette and Florida are tied in my book. Otherwise I moderatly dislike UI and could care less about ND.

Born and raised in Chicagoland and I have always been a fan of the Michigan Wolverines.

When they are playing well and the Pro's aren't: U of I, Northwestern, Loyola, DePaul and Northern.

As an Illinois alum, I'm a massive Illini fan. I also went to DePaul for law school, so I'll follow the Blue Demons for basketball (although they have been downright awful for the past few years). There are definitely still a lot of Notre Dame fans in the Chicago area with the prevalence of "subway alums" (people that never actually went to ND). I'd say that in the Chicago area that Illinois and Notre Dame are the schools with measurable numbers of fans that go beyond their own alumni bases, while the other Big Ten schools are well represented. Chicago is an underrated college sports town - while it's definitely a pro sports city, the presence of the Big Ten and ND at least puts college sports on the map here (unlike NYC, Boston, and Philly, which simply don't care about college sports at all).

Seems pretty ridiculous that the Illinois State Redbirds nor the Bradley Braves. Oh, and the SIU Salukis.

There are plenty of MVC hoops fans.
