Being from Central Illinois, it's hard not to vote for the Fighting Illini.....go Illini....especially with a daughter as an Alumni.

I'm from Chicago, and I've got to say: I've never seen this "Notre Dame Country" everyone talks about. All my friends who are from here are UI fans. I know a lot of other Big Ten grads just because a lot have moved here for work, but I'd say a good 60-70% of sports fans here like the Illini over any other team. UND is a clear second. Then you get a couple NU fans, but they're just usually so bad.

A little off topic, but I wish Depaul's men basketball team was good and they played in the city. Fighting Illini for me though.

U of I is probably #1 throughout most of the state while Notre Dame picks up a good chunk of the Chicago market. The rest are basically also-rans.

Youre posting this in an IL forum, who did you think we would really cheer for? Why not go post on the Louisiana boards and find out if they cheer for, say, Crimson Tide.
One more thing.....
BRING BACK THE CHIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, but the only people in Chicago who like UND are people who went to the Chicago Catholic Schools. Everybody else likes UI. Everyone just thinks UND is dominant because the Tribune board is all UND grads.
