Default Where to Live in Bloomington-Normal

Hello, B-N: I am soon to interview for a professional position in the Bloomington-Normal area. Am looking for some input as to where one should choose to look for housing (just trying to do some advance homework).

We are empty-nesters so keeping kiddies entertained and schooled - not an issue. Also not looking to spend a ginormous fortune on a house.

Realizing this is relatively non-specific, any input would be appreciated. Realtors are welcome to respond.

The western side of B-N is probably the area with the roughest neighborhoods so if you're looking at any properties there, make sure you look very closely.

I would say that the west side of Bloomington does have it's rough neigborhoods... Thinking of W. Market, Oakland Ave, neighborhoods that surround Miller Park. West Normal is ok in fact they have some nice newer subdivisions out that way. Thinking of W. Hovey Avenue, W. College Avenue to name a couple of main arteries.
