Tell me about Newton, IL
Anyone heard of or have any info good or bad on the Newton/Olney/Robinson area of IL? Looking (possibly) to move there.

That part of the state is really weird, sorry, but it's true. It seems like the farther east you get in Illlinois, the more suspicious the people are. We lived in Olney and hated it. Nothing fun to do around the area and people are very suspicious of the neighboring communities.

Olney has albino squirrels. As for that crack about East Central Illinois, it isn't true. The people this way are nice, and yes, not much happens here but we find ways of keeping busy.

Yeah man, but Paxton is further north. Olney is a weird area. Check out Bone Gap, IL.

I agree. I lived in Olney for a number of years. I miss seeing those white squirrels. Spent time at the park feeding them. Good memories.

I lived in Olney too. Those white squirrels would almost eat out of your hand!
Good memories here too!
