Default Living in Silvis?
My wife and I are moving from Cedar Rapids, IA and maybe renting a house in Silvis. Could I get some info about what this town is like?

I live in Rock Island County and essentially this area (Silvis, Carbon Cliff, & to an extent Colona) are really just an extensions of East Moline. Avenue of the Cities runs through this area so you have easy access to restaurants, shopping, and etc. This area does not have the lively downtown that RI, Davenport, or Moline has. Instead the downtown in this area is slightly run down and definitely has an older feel to it when compared to the downtowns of other cities within the QCA. Overall, I love this area. You will be no more than 20 min from everything the QCA has to offer. I have not witnessed much crime in this area; atleast not what I would call serious crime. In Silvis there is a Walmart, Frank's Pizza, Jewel-Osco, and etc. Overall, Very Nice Area!!!

I second that. I haven't been up that way for a long time, but it has always been a very decent area.
