Default Nice restaurants around Kankakee area

I am looking for a nice restaurant around the Kankakee area. I will be visiting the area from out of state and would like to find a nice 'date night' place to take my lady out. Also what are some of the entertainment/things to do options in the area?

Thanks in advance.

Kankakee and Kankakee County in a nutshell. Clicking on Visitor Information will bring up a new page. Scroll down and click on Dining. There are many selections in the county including Cracker Barrel, Lone Star Steakhouse, IHOP, Red Lobster, international, pizza, ice cream and unique dining experiences. Poke around the website to find points of interest and history. Visit Kankakee County - VISITOR INFORMATION

Another option, If you don't mind a short drive or spending $300 for world class Five-Star cuisine, take your lady to Chicago for a night on the town. Once you get this close to Chicago, the world is your oyster and you don't have to settle for a $20 meal and a movie. There is some really good authentic food and shopping in Chinatown that won't break the bank, either.

Large or small, enjoy your time together.

Default Shop, food in kankakee

hello, I have lived here for 7 years and there are no nice places to eat or shop. Although Kankakee is redoing the main street on route 17 with new banking, library, business, small shops - Jimmy Johns seems to be the only new place to grab a sandwich. Explore the area on line before you travel to this town.....GOOD LUCK.

All there is in Kankakee is a 20 dollar meal at cracker barrel and a movie theater? Is that really your opinion of areas outside of the city?
