Default Wanting to get into the movie industry

I am planning to move to Murphysburo soon! I am interested in getting into the movie business. I understand that there is a thriving industry going on, and I would like to connect with others that are involved in making movies! These kind of movies can be those films that everybody wants to see, as well as those smaller titles that tend to play in art houses that old people love, but nobody wants to see!

Anyway, please leave you commentary on how I can get into the movie business in the area that i will be living in! Thanks!

Is this a joke? The only Murphysburo I know of is Murphysboro in Southern IL and has about 13K people. I am not sure about the movie scene, maybe from SIU? Either way, I dont believe it is a thriving business...

First, if you have a job keep it for the time being. Il economy down state is worse than Chicago. The producers in Il are in Chicago and St. Louis. Go to Bing and type in "Casting Call in Illinois. If you are talking about soft or hard core you can Bing that too. I suspect you will do just as well in a town that has an active performing art community - if you are active in local productions - and the camera likes you.

Your best bet is to fill out an application form at the Blockbuster Video in Murphysburo.
