This is pretty ridiculous. There needs to be a sub-forum for the Metro East/ the five county area in Southwest Illinois, considering it has over 650,000 people (two-thirds the population of DuPage County). For God's sake, there is a sub-forum for "York and Lancaster Counties" in South Carolina

I don't think there is great swell of postings from your area, are the St. Louis area forums heavily used?

Obviously. I mean, of course they are heavily used. It's an area with a population of nearly 3 million. Not to mention SW Illinois has more activity than places that have their own sub-forums like Columbus, GA...

The Sub-Forum is based on the number of pasts from a specific area. If you can seperate the number of posts in that area from the number of posts in St. Louis that apply directly to your area, then you have a shot. But, you have to make your case to the Adminstrator!.

Start with a yes/no poll. Do you want a Metro Eaat Sub-Forum. If you get a high Yes vote, it might be considered. It will take time - up to a year or longer before you see it.

State and Forum Moderators have NO say in the matter. I have not seen very many posts that query moving to the East St.Louis, Illinois Metro Area.

A sub forum is needed when the general forum is so busy threads are rapidly disappearing from the first page and are being overlooked.

The Illinois general forum is definitely not busy. On a unusually busy day, maybe 10 threads have new posts. The newest post to the last thread on the first page is usually about 10 days old.

Their sub-forum is as busy as the entire Illinois general forum, so you might be correct.

I've suggested that sub-forums that appeal to more than one state be included as a sub-forum of all relevant states -- for instance, the Cincinnati sub-forum being listed under both Ohio and Kentucky forums and maybe even the Indiana forum; the Kansas City subforum being listed under both the Missouri and Kansas sub-forums; merging the Northwest Indiana forum into the Chicago Suburbs sub-forum and listing it under both the Illinois and Indiana sub-forums; and yes, listing St. Louis as a sub-forum of both the Illinois and Missouri forum. But for some reason the senior admins insist on a rigid delineation where a sub-forum shall only exist in one parent forum. I don't know why; it makes no sense to me why you shouldn't be able to click through to the St. Louis sub-forum from the Illinois forum and the Missouri forum.

Thank you! Finally someone who understands my point and is not dismissing it as "well Illinois really isn't busy enough" The rigid delineation is a logical fallacy. I can think of many other parts of metro areas that are neglected in terms of having a sub-forum as well: Northern Kentucky in the Cincy metro; Johnson County/ the Kansas side of KC; DeSoto County/ the Mississippi side of Memphis; etc.
