Question Lake Holiday, IL (Sandwich/Somonauk)

I was wondering about Lake Holiday, located between Sandwich and Somonauk, IL. Do people live there full-time, or is it more of a "summer home" type of community? How are the beaches? What is it like in general?

I have seen it myself before, and the lake was much bigger than I expected (in a good way) and it seemed nice there. Huge mix of house types to choose from, lakefront or otherwise. It's far out from the suburbs, yes, but not THAT far out if you look at the big picture. However, I just can't find much information about it on here or elsewhere. I would really like to know more about it. I'm not sure if the lack of information is a good thing or a bad thing! But I am curious to find out.

Can anyone give me information about Lake Holiday? Thanks, anything would be much appreciated!

People live there all the time. I think it is considered part of sandwich.

Sorry I haven't been on in a while to respond! Things got busy!

Anywho, thanks for all of the helpful info everyone! I still have a few more questions though. Does anyone know anything about what the nearby towns and surrounding area are like? Also, what about the schools? Where do you go to school if you live by Lake Holiday? I can't seem to find much info on that.

Anything else I need to know? Feel free to fill me in! Haha.

Sandwhich, the last time I was there, was a sleepy farm town that isn't too far from I-90 into the Chicago Loop. You'll pass the Brookfield Zoo on the way into the City. I-90 ends at Lake Shore Drive and about 4 blocks from the Loop. The realtor can tell you the rest. I"d be talking the school Principal before I bought anything anywhere. .

You are pretty far off about your directions. sandwich is further west than sugar grove, and to get into the city and pass near the brookfield zoo, you would take I88. the drive is nont short, it is long!
sandwich has been growing over the past few years, as have all of the far west suburbs. I don't know which school district kids go to. nearby towns are sandwich, somonauk, plano. The stretch along Il rt 34 has a number of shopping opportunities in small strip centers and there is a walmart supercenter in plano. There is a movie theater complex, a newer hotel(timber creek) that also has a conference center. The sandwich antique market is held once a month(i think) at the sandwich fair grounds. there are some smaller restaurant/bars in the sandwich area.
