Angry Illinois is stupid!!!

It's because Illinois is stupid and is a State run by the insurance companies... Go figure, all the major insurance company's headquarters are located in Illinois. State Farm, Allstate, Country Companies, all in Illinois!

I-70 in southern Illinois is in the middle of nowhere, and the cops were ticketing like there was no tomorrow. Probably the major source of income for the entire county.

The thing is that the police want a raise but can't get it. Because the city spends money on other things and refuses to give them the raise because there isn't any money left after all the spending. So the cops are aggressive when it comes to ticketing. Because it is one of the few ways they can supplement their income.

Ohio also ... Cleveland and Columbus in particular have many insurance companies.

The authoritative compendum of state-level data on that website from MIT (I posted the link somewhere on the C-D forums) says that Iowa is 70 mph outside of cities.

"55 mph upstate" really means Chicagoland. I-55 north of I-80 is posted 65 mph, same as I-57 south of Matteson. Is I-57 the "Autobahn" ?? It's rural in all points south of Chicagoland, except for Champaign. You can only see so much corn.

Okay, I guess I remembered incorrectly, probably because I was going 75 mph.

There aren't any states with any 75 maximum postings that I know. Most western and southern states are posted 70, and Texas has areas that are posted 80.

Do Minnesota people drive 80 the way that many/most people in Illinois and Michigan do? Maybe I should "Uff da!" over in the Minn-e-SO-tah forum.
People in Wisconsin go 75-ish, about the same as Indiana. If you go 72 in Ohio, you'll pass the entire state.

If you go 72 in Ohio, you will get pulled over. Troopers in Ohio are every bit the jags that people here imagine Illinois troopers are.
