Enjoy your highlife while you can
I'll be thinking, "I told you so," when all of you who can't find enough 'culture', and places to spend money in Indiana, are struggling, trying to figure out what to do when paper money is no longer worth anything, and the mainstream Democrats and Republicans sold you out to the UN, via the SPP, NAU, WTO, NAFTA, etc, etc, etc.
No, thanks. I'll take my 'backwards' community that has no culture, no mall, and no nightlife. At least I'll know how to take care of myself and feed my family while you're begging for government scraps.
Just for reference, I'm a college graduate, send my kids to a private school, and have spent time in a foreign country, and am a native Hoosier-er-I mean-BOILERMAKER!

Hate IT!
BSL,
I am in total agreement with you. I don't understand what all the fuse is about. Louisville is just OK by me. That is my personal opinion. I guess people around here like it for some reason or another.
I would not mind Dallas except for the traffic. I plan to move to NC and retire in about 4 years or so.
Good luck on your move back to Dallas.

We have lived in Indiana and whilst it is not our favourite place to live, it has many things to offer.

I just had to comment. I lived in Indiana for 2 years. Coming from my native state of Minnesota that is quite a change. Things I liked? Low cost of living and much cheaper food. Trust me compared to Minnesota they were cheap. The people are very friendly and would help you out in a pinch if necessary.
Things I didnt like were the education system. Not bragging but Minnesota is top notch in education. I also didnt like the littering people did with no regard to their neighbor. But I had a great job their and when I left I felt terrible. All in all I like Indiana. Be proud of your state like I am of mine. Thanks!!

Nope, I still don't get it.
If Salem IN is such a bad place why does it rate so well for LOW crime?
Anyone?

Anywhere in Indiana is better than Wisconsin. So, it could be worse.

One reason people may have trouble here may be due to some of the more 'colorful' residents in the smaller towns. Such as in Connersville.

And yes, I live there.

I'm not really posting this to rant or anything I'm just wondering what makes people like it so much? Is it something that I don't see or what? The cost of living is reasonable I guess but after seeing some other cities in other parts of the country, the Louisville area is far behind.
I am planning to move away to the Dallas/Fort Worth area within a year or two, likely permanantly. I grew up here and never liked it at all. I don't like the weather, it gets too cold in the winter time and the early spring and late fall are usually pretty much too cold too, making for about 5 months of cold weather. I don't mind the heat in the summer I just don't like the cold. Another reason is that I don't think there is much at all to do around here. I am a huge sports fan and hate not having any pro sports teams. Yeah you have U of L but A) I don't like them and B) I'm much more of a pro kind of person. The Bats are a joke to me although I would agree that they have made the best out of what they have. For triple A, the stadium is pretty nice. I just never did like it around here. Am I missing something or are the people too narrow minded to see that there are better places or maybe this is just where they are from and don't know any different?
I in no way am intending to offend anyone or start anything up... I'm just seeing if anyone else views it the way I do.
