I think it depends. There are some neighborhoods in Carmel that have Westfield addresses and are within the Carmel Clay school district. I had a friend who lived in Saddle Creek who was like that.

I have a family one child in elementary and the other not in school.

Have looked at Fishers. not sure if this is too far of a drive, nice town/schools?

What actual areas of the city of Indy are nice? (low crime, good schools, new homes, family communities)

Also is there a big difference between property taxes for the counties? Living in the city of Indy or in Hamilton County?
Thanks in advance
We live in Fishers and love it. My husband works almost to the airport and his drive is usually about 45 minutes. I work off of 82nd and Int. 69 and my commute varies from 15 minutes to 25 minutes.

Property taxes in Fishers are the lowest in Hamilton County per a newspaper report I read a few weeks ago. Our property taxes have gone down every year since we moved here 7 years ago.

Hamilton Southeastern Schools are wonderful, our child went through HSE from 7th grade - 12th grade. Her first year of college she has averaged 3.69 gpa and in high school her gpa was about 3.0 so HSE has definitely prepared her for college.

A drive to Carmel would not be hard from most parts of Fishers. :
