Default Best place to live near Albion, IN for a single man

Hello:

I am moving to Albion,IN next year due to a job.

I'm a single 35 years old male.

Where would be a good place to live for someone like me?

I heard there a lot of small towns near Albion but wonder which one will be the best.

One that has gyms, movie theaters and single women among other things.

Thanks,
Bob

If you are wanting / needing all of those three (and other) attributes in the same city/town you are living within, you will need to travel to Kendallville, Ft. Wayne, Auburn, Columbia City, Goshen, and/or Warsaw... for examples,,, all of which are 15-45 minutes from Albion. Have you (a) visited Albion, and/or (b) looked at a map? Take a gander at the area via google maps, you will see that Albion is central Noble County, and within this county, K'ville has more of those items... with Goshen and FtW being just about same distance from Albion in opposite directions [just tad closer to FtW]. Honestly, I enjoy living in the Albion area, its very nice town, rural, good people, clean (for the most part), quite good local restaurants, very good schools - but for gyms, movies, shopping, and such, those are done elsewhere.

So, with that said, how much of a commute would you want to your job in Albion? Do you desire to rent or buy, rural or more city/town? Do you want to live closer / within same town where those attributes actually are? Lastly, even though FtW is the 2nd largest city in the state, it has the reputation of folding up fairly early,,, when comparing to Indy and other larger cities. Its more of a larger town. Nice place, lots of things to do in the area, esp. if you like festivals, outdoors, concerts, etc... check out the Ft Wayne threads too.

PM or post back with any other specific questions. I'm no expert, not from here originally, just a goofy fool that moved here ~10 years ago, living in the Albion / Churubusco area, work in the Columbia City / FtW area. Good luck.

It depends where you are coming from. Albion is roughly 2,500 people. Small town vibe, but quaint in its own respect. If you are looking for a more metropolotian feel, Fort Wayne to the southeast and Elkhart County to the Northeast are your best bets for movies, shopping, broader genre of single women. The drive from both of these places is no longer than 25-35 minutes. Fort Wayne definitely has more than Goshen has to offer, but Goshen is a nice town with an excellent downtown. However, if you live in Goshen, the cities of South Bend, Mishawaka, and Elkhart are nearby in the same Michiana region. Besides Indy, I believe Mishawaka has the best shopping in Indiana, not too mention being extremely aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

What about Kendallville?

I heard it has several things I'm looking for and it's pretty close to Albion.

You just can't have it all. , Kendallville will bore you in a short time. Don't sign a year long lease if you moved there. Auburn has more what you're looking for. I live near Albion myself. Most people I worked with commute to Ft Wayne.

So would you recommend Auburn before Kendallville?

Thanks

I definitely would. More choices to do, a little more modern so to speak.
