Hi everyone,
I need an operation and it will cost me $1200 to pay the surgeon. Problem is that because of illness I no longer can work and I have no insurance. I am 55 years old and have no minor children so I don"t qualify for medicaid. I don't qualify for obamacare or Hoosier healthwise. In short I have fell through every crack there is to fall through. I go to the clinic. The surgeon is giving me a 30 percent discount. The surgery is a gallbladder removable that could or could not be cancer. No way to tell until it's removed. Does anyone out there have any ideas on what I can do? Thankyou for your time and efforts.

You didn't buy insurance on the ACA website when you stopped working? With no income, it would have been almost free. And didn't Ohio expand Medicaid as part of Obamacare? I can't imagine why you wouldn't have been eligible. Aren't you the kind of person Obamacare was intended to help?

You should re-post your question in the Health Insurance section of the Health forum where there are a lot of experts with good advice.

Default How SAD

I stumbled on this looking at Indiana threads............... two replies to this and 54 on a chair company post??

.

My advice would be to go to a catholic Hosp where they will treat you without insurance.
Only religious based Hospitals will give care without immediate payment that I know of.
And Yes there are people falling through the cracks of new healthcare, you can make to
much for medicaid and to little for health care exchange plans Single adults would have
it the worst for medicaid help in my opinion.

The 30,000 number is views, not replies. That post is 8 years old, hence the number of views.

This thread has fewer views because it less than a month old. Come back in 8 years and we can compare rate of views.

way I understand you have to be able to afford to purchase a policy before vouchers would help
fund the plan, all others reffered to medicaid and most making any kind of money dont get that.

Or maybe it shows most of us try not to charade around as experts on health care laws? Chairs are a pretty easy subject to comment on.

Though; it is more likely the volume on the forum now is not what it used to be.

you do not have to be an expert to offer some kind of advice, just like I did, go to a catholic run hospital, etc.
