Question average rate of pay

I am trying to figure out what the average rate of py is for an average joe job. Ex: I am working at a vet clinic part time in TX making 8/hr. My husband does wharehouse work in tx for 10/hr. IS this about the same there? We are moving without transferring and dont want to get stuck with no job or crappy paying jobs. any advice? thanks!

well... thats the ideal thing to do however that doesnt seem like an option at the moment with us both working here. We cant get away to go up for random interview times. I have had several phone interviews and companies willing to work with our schedules but if worst comes to worst and we move without one... thats what i am concerned about. I just want to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best! We are moving for what our degrees will be in May. So my concern is for short term average jobs.

You mention what your "degrees will be in May". What fields are these?

Kinda hard to answer your question, as there really is not an 'average job'. However, will say that hourly union and non- that I am aware of in the Ft Wayne, Terre Haute, Evansville, and Indy areas make 10-25 per hour, based on seniority, position, and company type.

Have you looked at salary.com, and related sites? Or comparisors such as:
Compare Two Cities, City Profile Report, City Comparison Tool
Cost of Living comparison calculator

Good luck.
