Back Home Again In Indiana...but where? (Carmel, Greenwood: to live in, safe)

My family and I are moving back to Indiana in about 6mo-to a year,
We want to be within 30 min of Indy to increase our chances of finding good paying work. But we are looking for a small town, not subburbs, and a clean safe environment for our kids. Thinking of Labanon or maybe Noblesville.
Does anyone here have info on what it is like to live in these areas. Or do you have an area to suggest?

You won't get downtown from Lebanon or Noblesville in 30 mintues. If you work in Carmel or Zionsville, maybe. If you want 30 minutes, look into Greenwood, Plainfield ... small town... New Palestine ...
