Default Is Fort Wayne like Lexington,KY?

Hi All,

We will probably be moving to IN soon. We are not sure if it will be the Fort Wayne area or Indy area. We are temporarily near Lexington, KY. Is Fort Wayne similar to Lexington? We enjoy all the shopping, events, activities, etc. in Lexington and we were wondering if Fort Wayne is similar. Also can you get(3-4 bed/2bath) lower priced houses ( $90 - 130's) near Fort Wayne? Last question...does anyone prefer Indy area ( Greenwood,Avon, Shelbyville, Noblesville etc.) to Fort Wayne area?

We are the type that like smaller cities (200,000pop) to the larger Indy so that is why we thought we might like Fort Wayne. All opinions will be appreciated.

Thank you for your help!

If you want something "more similar" to Lexington - then Fort Wayne is it vs Indianapolis. It actually meets all the criteria you set forth (population, shopping, events, activities, housing costs). I would check out zip-codes 46804 or 46814 but would encourage you to come for a visit to see what you think for yourself (I have friends in Lexington and have done the drive a couple times - it's only 5 hours).

Feel free to message me - I have more potentially helpful info I can share if you share more about your situation.
