I'm am relocating to the area for work and I was just wanting to know everybody's thoughts on the Irvington area. What's the crime like? What are some good spots as far as housing goes? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Have a good night everybody!

Irvington is a nice area.

Good spots for housing? That depends what you are looking for. It is a better area for home owners, there are some rentals though. It is a pretty safe area. I was just over there tonight walking the dog.

Irvington is a great neighborhood, though it is close to many very questionable ones, particularly to Irvington's west. It's a more urban neighborhood and much of its appeal derives from things being within walking distance. What sort of area are you looking for in particular?

You might try posting this on the Indianapolis forum specifically--you're far more likely to get a good number of responses.

Those neighborhoods just west of Irvington are nicer than many people think. Bosart-Brown is an improving area, Emerson Heights is right there as well. Seems to me if you stay east of Linwood you are in better shape over there.
