I was born here, raising three kids in the same home where I was raised. You will find you plenty of restaurants and stores to choose from. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, it is an easy drive into the city of Indy. It has very easy access into Indianapolis...you can be downtown or on the Northside in less than 30 min.. well, at least I can... lol
Crime is almost non existent… but makes for bored cops that might respond to the most stupid complaints from other people. To this day, my front door is never locked… that is where my teens can come and go without the hassle of keys. I only lock my doors at night... and I live one block from the court house in a two story restored home.
The schools are pretty good. I used to work for Greenfield Central Schools and there are some great teachers in the system. I would never put my kids into an Indianapolis school, so I guess that speaks for itself. I suppose that since some of the outlining/county area schools are smaller, some might think they would provide better education. At one time, graduating from Greenfield Central Schools was like graduating from a community college.. you can get college credits if you are an honor student.
Great hospital… I should know… my employment is through them. Great facilities… great doctors. Hancock Wellness is an awesome gym.
I feel it is a great place to raise a family. I moved to Michigan for two years and moved back. I missed home…
Greenfield is a bit redneck, but I always felt that wasn’t so bad because it kept the undesirables out.
