I completely agree that when your ideas are presented by someone who is a native Hoosier it receives immediate approval, but when I offer the same ideas they carry no weight. On the surface, Indiana natives are warm and friendly, but I get the impression it is simply a carry-over of old fashion southern hospitality because they think this is how they are supposed to act but inside they see transplants as Outsiders in what historically has been a very insular section of the country.
Oh trust me, you don't have to be from out of state to be treated like an outsider in some places ...

If you look at states toward the east coast or out west, you have a job. My friend got a paper from Arizona and it had over 200 listings for teacher positions. Here, the help want ads are about 2 1/2 pages, but this one was in two sections!

I talked to someone today who has a degree in computers and can't find a job.

I wish Publisher Clearing House would hurry up and get to my house. LOL They promised that they would be here Aug. 30th.
I thought about moving back to Indiana because the town I am living in right now is BORING. I am currently teaching in Arizona. After looking for jobs in Indiana, I am about to change my mind. One school I applied at actually
said that they had over 4000 applications! I even had one charter school say that they would do a phone interview with me and never called! I have 4 years of teaching experience in Arizona and I even have Structured English Immersion training, which is ESL training. My students have even scored well on standardized tests. I still can't find a job in Indiana. If I were you I would definitely look out-of-state for a teaching job.

Now I am thinking I will try to find a teaching job in North Carolina, Kentucky, or perhaps another city in Arizona.
