FWIW, have driven through the town on a few occasions, and just based on these travels in that area, there does seem to be quite a few Mexican orientated stores and peoples rumbling about the area - not saying this in a racist manner, just as an observation. However, with that said, I would love to see some backup proof of some claims that are made w/in some posts. Lastly, if you like pizza, there is a quite good locally owned joint on the main square that really enjoy... sorry don't recall the exact name, but something along the lines of El Furnace, in Italian. Besides the Elkhart news, there is also the Goshen online news: http://www.goshennews.com/ Best to yas...

Werd. Exactly. I live in Elkhart and it's getting just as bad. Moving west in Feb. Elkhart's bad, but Goshen is worse. Don't move there.

LOL! And that's why you're moving to Los Angeles? A sanctuary city! LOL! I honestly don't understand.

I don't understand either really. It doesn't bother me in big cities, but when I think of small towns I think of Mayberry, not illegals carrying the economy on their backs.
I'm moving mainly due to weather and career reasons. I may not make sense to you but I make sense to me, does that make any sense? I sense it does not

Jake, it makes sense, seriously, it does, but you make LA seem like some kind of utiopia. Don't set yourself up Jake. The grass is always greener, especially where it's sunny and warm most of the time.

Do us a favor, please post how you are doing every once in awhile. Or DM me and let me know. I'd love to see a sunnier side of you and hopefully LA will be able to provide that to you and your wife.

No prob Domergurl!
Actually this will be our second go around. We lived there for 2 years until her mom got sick. We came back here to take care of her until she passed. We thought maybe we'd just be content and "deal" but it hasn't happened yet and it's been a year. We miss L.A. it's no utopia, not by far, actually rather nasty in some parts. Always stuff to do though and my "mental" seems to clear right up once I'm in better weather. Just personal preference I guess.

Lived in Goshen IN for 4 years, moved last year to Cary N.C...but now thinking of moving back to Goshen. Our expierience there was great. We originate from Vancouver B.C. It's a little town, you will see your neighbours at the local grocery store. The homes are full of character life is very inexpencive. Your close to Chicago...if you want to be in a big city for the weekend. There is very little vilance in Goshen. I think there was a fight at a local club last year and that was in the news papers/ news..talk of the town! In the local Collage students leave their bikes unlocked. There is a rv industry therefore there are Latinos that come to work there. They are very good/ hard working people live in the out skirts. You have to remember you live in America it's multi cultural.

This is just ridiculous. I am a student at Goshen High School, and have lived here in Goshen my entire life. It's an amazing city with caring people, and lots of things to do. You get the benifits of a big city(movie theater, many chain restaraunts, big chain stores) with the small-town feel. We have an awesome downtown with many cute shops and restaurants, and coffee shops. We also have something called "first fridays" where alot of people who live in Goshen gather downtown for a monthly block party. Many of the stores have sales, and it's a time to meet with everybody you know and have a good time. Also, Goshen schools are just amazing. We have some of the best teachers ever. They are so kind and respectful. They treat you as a student with feelings, not just a number. And what's this about middlebury???I love it how the people in middlebury love to go on and on about how terrible Goshen is, but they come here all the time! They come here to shop, and eat and hang out. Yet they talk about how gross and dangerous it is here. If it's so bad, maybe they should stay over there.Goshen does have a high hispanic population. But, most of them are hardworking, nice people who are working on getting to be citizens. Goshen is safe. We don't have hardly any crime at all. And the schools are safe. Goshen is an excellent place to live, work, play, go to school, and to meet excellent loving people.Move here!

Default Goshen

This is so untrue! Yes there have been a few problems with gangs over the years but it's not like it's some major gang problem like they have in bigger cities. We just moved to TX from Goshen IN this spring. It was due to the economy there though. Goshen is a very nice small town. Yes there is a large hispanic population.. It really is a nice place to live and raise a family. Oh and BTW to the person who was comparing Goshen to Elkhart- Elkhart IS way worse and has always been!
