I am in the running for an education position in Flora and Muncie ( Delaware County schools). If hired,I'd have to move quickly from Cincinnati. Would be looking for 1 bedroom apt. Are Lafayette and Kokomo too far from Flora? Any suggestions near Muncie?

Thanks!

Kokomo is approximately 35 or 40 miles from Muncie, and many people make the commute one way or the other. Lafayette I think is much too far to drive. I would look in Muncie and Anderson if I were you. Anderson would be my top choice. I grew up there and it is a much nicer town to live in than Muncie.

Default Are Lafayette and Kokomo too far from Flora?

I went to Carroll and had many teachers that lived outside of Carroll county. You could live on the outskirts of either town and still reach the school within 30-45 minutes. If you lived in Burlington you could be at CJHS or CES in 15-20 min or Kokomo in 20 min. If you lived on the outskirts of Lafayette you could be in Flora in 30 min. I would guess based on the information you provided that you would like Lafayette better than Kokomo since it is a larger city, has more cultural offerings due to it's affiliation with Purdue, and has a faster route to Indianapolis.

Can't help you too much with the Muncie part of your question, my experience with that part of the state is very limited.

My friend's mom owns a home in Flora, which is split into two rental units. I think one unit may be available. If you'd like me to check pflaherty, DM me and I'll see what I can find out for you.

Good luck with your job prospects!
