New Albany is a beautiful small community with new shopping and 5 star schools. Just over the river from the Louisville airport, which is great because of it's size, big enough for flying anywhere, small enough to not be such a hassle. We lived there 9 years and experienced many beautiful snowfalls. Plenty for snowmen and snowball fights!
We have a beautiful, large 5 bedroom home for sale or lease in a wonderful safe neighborhood on a cul-de-sac. Right now with the market, it's an incredible bargain.
Let me know if you would like more info on New Albany or our home.

Sounds like a nice area. We are still leaning now towards Grand Rapids MI. My brother is moving there and we have been taking care of his daughter (beautiful 17 month old baby!) for the last four months. Just feel like we need to be close by in case things go badly again.

Avoid Louisville. unless you can afford private schools, your child will not be attending a safe school. Picking a home in a GOOD NEIGHBORHOOD means nothing, your neighborhood school will be full of thugs. this is from a two week resident of Louisville who's child was robbed by two thugs at Waggener school, so I speak from sad experience.
The schools also have problems keeping textbooks, Waggener did not have enough for all students; the teachers were not able to control noise and chaos in the classrooms, and the dress code was ignored.
Dont ASSUME like I did that living in a GOOD neighborhood equals a good school. The JCPS failed to inform me I had a choice in schools, if you do move here, DO YOUR RESEARCH, and DO NOT (like the other people who live here ) accept UNSAFE education for your kids.

We'd like an Assembly of God church in the area also, and we would drive a bit to get to one. The kids want snow and fireflies.
Any ideas?

I would recommend that you move to Northern Kentucky! Living in NKY you can have a fairly large house (which is obviously what you will need), with a lot of land, in a great neighborhood, for a great price. From my understanding, NKY school's are some of the best in the state. In NKY depending on what you are looking for you can get a house in an urban, suburban or rural setting. Most of our neighborhoods are some of the safest, if not the safest neighborhoods in the greater Cincinnati area. Also, houses in NKY have a great resale value and are almost always going up in value, so chances are your house value will go up yearly due to a high demand. There always seems to be a high demand here in NKY which is great obviously for homeowners in the area! Also, you can have the convience of being close to a major airport. We have a wonderful International airport which has non-stop flights daily to Frankfort, Amsterdam, London, Paris and Rome and is the only airport in the state that has offers non-stop flights to foreign countries. Anway, the people here are also very nice and since you are a Christian family you will love the Creation Museum. Also, may I recommend my church seeing that y'all are also an Assembly of God family, the church my wife and I attend, an Assembly of God church here in NKY. If you would like to know which AG church or more about our church, just let me know! We love our church and you are more than welcome to visit anytime! You can also choose to go to our major cities and enjoy all they have to offer like Covington, Newport or Florence (Covington being the biggest) and also choose to go into Cincy if you choose to cross the river. May God bless your family and I hope you find the right place you have been praying for!!!
